Vehicles, Farming & Hunting
Update 0.6.5 is here, and it's a big one: three brand new gameplay systems, a rebuilt vehicle experience, a full economy rebalance, and a whole lot of new things to do around the city. Let's get into it.
The biggest piece is the new Vehicle System đ. With a driver's license you can now buy vehicles at the Car Dealership, or at specialized shops like the new Hose Motorbike Store for bikes and motorcycles, and spawn them at Vehicle Spawners across the city. We've added a lot of new cars, remade the Car Dealership and the Spawners from scratch, and moved the dealership from Fanzeres to Paddington. Once you own a car, bring it to a Car Mechanic đ§, where you can upgrade pretty much everything: from a racing engine to tires that can handle snow and mud, drift particles, and even a new horn. New Car Mechanic Garages are opening in Paddington, Master City and Grimwater. Your car now also needs fuel âŊ: there's a fuel bar while driving, and new Gas Stations in Paddington, Grimwater, Master City and Porto let you refill your vehicle directly at the pump. You can also grab an empty jerrycan, fill it up and take it with you, and the shop sells snacks and drinks too. To protect your ride, there's a new Vehicle Insurance Shop, and helicopters now kick up ground effect particles when flying low đ.
Next up is the Farming System đą. Grab your watering can, head over to the Emerald Villa Farmers Market and buy some seeds (the Seed Vendor puts a different seed on sale every day). Plants are grown in Portable Planters and need proper care: watering, fertilizing, the whole deal. Keep some plant protection in your backpack too, because if you forget, pests will happily eat your entire harvest. Once everything is grown, sell your crops at the Farm Market, or fulfill the Restaurant Owner's daily produce orders. The Compost Vendor sells fertilizer and plant protection and buys your bio waste, and the Plant Shop has everything else you need, from Watering Cans to Farmer's Goggles.
Then there's the Hunting System đĻ, which completely overhauls everything you know about vanilla animals. Animals now have a group sense and flee together as soon as a player is too loud, so stay quiet while hunting. Place bait on the ground (grain, meat or wheat, all sold at the new Hunting Shop) to lure animals in, but be careful: if they spot you, they're gone. Once you've made your catch, loot the corpse. The cleaner your kill, the better the quality of the loot you'll get.
Fishing đŖ got a big upgrade too. There's a brand new fishing minigame, and you can now attach different hooks and bait to your rod to change what you catch. All the extra junk you pull out of the water can be sold at the new Junk Shop in Sampaio, and junk shops now change what they buy every single day. The Scrap Workstation can also disassemble more junk items.
If you want a break from all that, the new Arcade đšī¸ has you covered with Air Hockey, Solitaire and Whack-a-Mole (grab some Arcade Coins at the Coin Shop first), and the Oblivion Chess Club brings full Chess to the city âī¸. Your phone đą also got upgrades: Contacts, a GPS system to find your way around, and spam messages in the messenger that you can get rid of with an Ad-Blocker (which you can now cancel for a partial refund).
On the quality of life side, we've remade the /mission menu, added /ignore, introduced Daily Quests (/quests), and converted a lot of old chest UIs into proper dialogues. If you're looking to promote your business, the new Advertisement Office lets you rent billboards across the city and show your own ad (all ads are reviewed by the staff team before they go live đĸ).
We also took a long look at the economy đ° and rebalanced most item prices, rewards and paychecks to create a more consistent and healthier economy. Among other things, police and justice paychecks now depend on your rank, bank interest has been lowered and capped, and skydiving costs money now. Check the full changelog below for all the details.
And finally, the city keeps growing đī¸: the airport and its surroundings are built, Sampaio is almost fully decorated, the BlackWing Stadium keeps getting more detail, there are new houses in Horizon Plains, and the Ring of Fire Caldera, an extinct volcano inside a huge lake, is waiting to be explored đ.
